Commutations

Part of the pension (or) the whole amount of the pension may be commuted according to the Myanmar Civil Pensions Commutations Rules. Commutations Rules and Regulations are as follows;-

(a) The  maximum amount of pension which may be commuted will be restricted to the 50 % of the pension granted , but not more than Ks.50/-.

(b) If the 50 % of the pension is less than Ks 25/- ,allthe pension amount Ks25/- , may be commuted.

(c) The pensioners of special retiring pension cannot commute their pension within (10) years from the date of retirement.

(d) Invalid pensioners who retire on medical certificate grade (B) cannotcommute their pension within (10) years from the date of retirement.

(e) Generally, Compassionate Pensioners may not commute theirpensions, except in the condition in which he / she suffered a great loss.

(f) All the commutedamount of pension has to be stopped for payment.

(g) If the pensioner is over (80) years old, he is not entitled to commutation.
