Consultation meeting for the use of mobile application ODK software in project progress monitoring was held at Project Appraisal and Progress Reporting Department, Office No.32, Naypyitaw on 25 September. The purpose of the meeting was to present the application of ICT in monitoring projects/ works and to explain the result from pilot test.
Daw Thway Thway Chit, Director General delivered an opening remarks at the meeting. She said the project for ICT based project progress monitoring was started in July 2017 with the support of World Bank and pilot test was conducted in eight Districts and the reports of 488 works were received in the system. By using it, the advantages such as receiving the project progress information timely, reducing time consumption and expense, getting familiar with modern technology, monitoring and evaluating public financial projects effectively could be obtained, added Director General. Director General also expressed the challenges and future plan for IT based project progress monitoring.
After that, IT experts from World Bank and the staffs from Project Appraisal and Progress Reporting Department presented the trial version of dashboard for project progress monitoring system with the data collected from pilot test. Then practical session for sending project progress information by using mobile phone application was conducted. The attendees actively discussed and asked the questions regarding the application and system.
The meeting was attended by 98 officials from 15 Ministries and concluded at 12:00 PM.
