Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw Statistics Law; Awareness raising workshop on Statistical rules and regulations was held on 20-1-2022 at 10 am at Nay Pyi Taw Council Meeting Hall (1).

Ministry of Planning and Finance Union Minister U Win Shein addressed Statistical Rules Awareness workshop on 20 January 2022 at 10:00 am. He attended the workshop on Rules Awareness and gave a speech.

               Ministry of Planning and Finance; Union Minister U Win Shein; Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Dr Maung Maung Naing; Deputy Minister Daw Than Than Lin, Director General of Central Statistical Organization and officials attended.

               First, the Ministry of Planning and Finance; Union Minister U Win Shein addressed the gathering. Statistics Law promulgated in January 2021;  To implement the statistical rules issued in May; Between the relevant departments and private entrepreneurs involved in the national accounting system; To make the rules widely known and understood in order to comply with the law in carrying out the accounting process, the Accounting Law; A seminar on rules and regulations was held. In Myanmar, the Statistics Act of 1952 has been in force for more than 60 years and is not up-to-date. Therefore, new accounting laws and rules have to be enacted in order to be able to operate in accordance with the changing times. To strengthen statistical data in accordance with the Statistics Law; To be complete and accurate; To be able to publish in real time The Central Committee for Statistical Accuracy and Quality is being formed at the Union level to strengthen cooperation between the departments involved in the national statistical system.

               Establishing coordination systems to improve the quality of the national statistical system; Technical assistance in conducting censuses and surveys; Giving advice; Implementing a national statistical development strategy; Release of official statistics of Myanmar; We are working to promote and develop human resources. He said that all departments and the private sector that provide statistical information together with the Central Statistical Organization must work together for the development of the national statistical system.

               Then Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman; Dr. Maung Maung Naing from Nay Pyi Taw Council; In the Union Territory, the Nay Pyi Taw Statistical Accuracy and Quality Assurance Committee has been formed with departments in the Union Territory to ensure the accuracy and quality of statistical data. Awareness raising activities are important for carrying out statistical work in accordance with the law. By conducting awareness workshop, all stakeholders and departments in the national statistical system will be able to carry out statistical work without difficulty.

               Afterwards, Director-General of the Central Statistics Office U Tun Zaw clarified the provisions of the Statistics Law and Rules and officials from the participating departments discussed the matter.
